Reading Passport ‘Suitcase full of books’ competition
Terms and Conditions for the competition ONLY


1. This promotion offers a chance to win a prize for book reviews submitted against the supplied criteria, in a competition run by the South West Regional Library Service libraries

2. This promotion is open only to members of participating public libraries during the promotional period, as defined in these terms and conditions. Employees of the participating libraries and their immediate family are not eligible to participate. South West Regional Library Service has the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.

3. The “promotional period” is 18 June 2012 to 30 September 2012 both days inclusive.

4. No Purchase Necessary. To enter the promotion you must be a Member of one of the participating libraries (“Library Member”). Membership is free and available to all persons who are resident within the local authority area of the participating libraries and who comply with the rules of the promotion.

5. To participate in the prize draw, Library Members must complete a book review from the Reading Passport, following the instructions for submission on it, and hand it in at any library, to be received no later than 30 September 2012. This constitutes an entry form. Each library member may submit up to six entries. Only complete entries complying with these terms and conditions will be accepted.

6. Closing date for entries is 30 September 2012.

7. There will be one prize for the winner. This is first prize. Each participating library service will choose at random one entry to go into the main prize draw. The first prize will then be drawn at random from the entry provided by each participating library service.

8. The first prize is an empty suitcase, and £300 in book tokens which the prize winner can use to fill the suitcase with books.

9. The prize fund consists of £300 in book tokens and a suitcase, to be awarded as described at 8.

10. Participating library authorities will also run a secondary competition awarding a prize for entries in their local authority area. This competition will be the subject of separate terms and conditions.

11. Winners will be notified by 31 October 2012.

12. Participation in the promotion is by official competition form only. Incomplete, photocopied, fraudulent, defaced or damaged forms will not be accepted. Any winner attempting to claim in such a way will be disqualified. Any attempt to manipulate or fraudulently participate in the promotion in any way will result in that participant being disqualified and no prize distributed to that participant. To be valid, participants must comply with these terms and conditions, and the instructions on promotional material, in full.

13. The promoter may, at its absolute discretion, substitute an alternative prize of equal or greater value for any of the prizes. No cash alternative. Prizes described may vary from those shown on promotional material.

13. All prizes are subject to availability.

14. The South West Regional Library Service is not liable for any claims arising from the execution of this promotion or from any prizes distributed as a result of it. The promoter reserves the right to amend or withdraw this promotion and the prize at any time.

15. The Promoter’s decision to award a prize is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

16. The Promoter reserves the right to use the winners’ names, details and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.

17. The winners’ details will be available by sending a stamped addressed envelope to: South West Reading Passport Competition, c/o Cyprus Well, Gandy Street, Exeter, EX4 3LS after 5 November 2012.
18. The promoter will hold and process winner’s data for the purpose of administering this promotion. [The promoter may contact participants from time to time in the future in order to update participants as to events and promotions run by the promoter. Participants who do not wish this to occur should advise the promoter when participating in the promotion].

19. All liability for tax associated with receipt of any prize is the responsibility of the winners.
